Based
in
Seattle, the Center for Lifelong Learning offers state-of-the-art
programs to teach speed reading and other workshops to supercharge your
learning and your career. Our signature 2-day workshop is
designed to
bring
your learning skills into alignment with the way your mind was meant to
gather information.
Brain research has
proven that our minds are
capable of taking information in at the rate of thousands of
words per minute, yet the average college graduate reads easy material
at 250 words per minute at barely 70 percent comprehension.
For tough material, the
average college grad slows down to
barely 100 words per minute at 50 percent comprehension. The thing is,
you don't need to slow down!
Have you found
that you get sleepy when you read? Does your
mind
wander and do you lose your place? Do you often find that you can't
remember what you have just read? Most people experience these problems
and it results in diminished performance at work, school, and lack of
enjoyment of reading and learning in general.
And it is all because your
brain is
bored to tears with the way you currently read and learn!
Most of us have been taught to read in a way that is way
below our brain’s capability and in fact is actually contrary to the way the
brain works. Most people have resigned themselves to believing that they are
poor or mediocre learners at best and settle for performance that is way
below their true capability. You are capable of so much more than you believed!
At the
end of the 2-
day Speed Reading workshop and 21-day practice
program:
a) Read three to
six books, articles and reports in the time
it takes
others to read only one today.
b) Improve your
comprehension, your concentration for test-taking and
learning, and your long-term memory.
c) Have a system for taking amazing notes that will make you a master
learner.
