I am writing a book . . .
The problem is that most of us don’t have a very strong appreciation for the fact that life is a series of processes with steps that must be completed before we can achieve our goals. Every day we hear from authors and self-described prophets on DVD who tell us that all we have to do is follow their steps and we can have it all. But it rarely seems to work. Sure, we come away enriched, but most wind up anxiously waiting for the next book to tell them what to do. Why?
I have begun writing a book about this called “The Power of Process - Why It’s OK That Things Don’t Happen Overnight.”
I am a ghostwriter and have written books for other people and a couple of books of my own about environmental issues. I spent 20 years working in the space program and used to work with Microsoft Research communicating future trends.
But this problem has always nagged at me, especially every time I walk into a bookstore and see the thousands of books about how to “do it right.” It’s very important to me to figure this out and I think it could be important to you as well.
